The opportunity
What you will own
- Design and improve secure voice, video and meeting flows across web and mobile environments.
- Work with WebRTC, SFU/media-server, signalling, ICE/STUN/TURN and network traversal components.
- Improve incoming-call delivery, background behaviour, connection recovery and cross-device call state.
- Build operational telemetry for setup time, media quality, failures and provider dependencies.
- Collaborate on end-to-end encryption architecture for calls and meetings.
- Diagnose network- and device-specific failures across diverse global connectivity conditions.
What you bring
Core qualifications
- Deep practical experience with WebRTC or comparable real-time media systems.
- Strong understanding of signalling, NAT traversal, media transport and quality-of-service considerations.
- Experience building or operating highly available real-time systems.
- Strong debugging skills across browser, mobile, backend and network layers.
- Ability to design privacy- and security-conscious communications systems.
Additional strengths
Preferred experience
- Experience with LiveKit, mediasoup, Janus, Jitsi or comparable SFU platforms.
- Experience with FCM/APNs native call notifications and mobile background delivery.
- Experience implementing or evaluating E2EE for real-time media.
